VP of Software
Job Location: San Jose, CA
Description:
Startup company is seeking a VP of Software.
Attract, hire and retain best-in-breed embedded processor tool developers
and DSP software engineers.
Drive requirements specification, architecture, design, development,
testing, quality assurance, release, documentation and sustaining
engineering of:
• Software Development Tools
• DSL Applications Software
• Embedded Systems Software
• To manage and lead company SW teams (Apps and Tools) in theUnited
States
• To contribute personally to Software, Systems and VLSIarchitecture
efforts as well as product and roadmap planning, based on strong personal
knowledge of effective solutions and business success.
• To evaluate and execute make vs. buy decisions of Systems/SW/Tools
components and technologies with full understanding of external partner
relationships.
Qualifications
Must have a strong, solid background in embedded software tools; someone
who has developed compilers, debuggers, and simulators and the like for
embedded processors.
Leadership/Management:
• 5+ years management experience
• Software development process management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a highly effectivecommunicator.
• Extensive experience in leadership of multicultural teamsincluding
very senior talent.
• Experience working in a fast-paced dynamic startup environmentwith
senior talented individuals towards aggressive goals.
• Demonstrated strong recruiting skills with ability to attract,
inspire, and retain senior engineers.
• Team player and self-starter with sense of urgency and will to win
as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Significant experience working with cross-functional non-software
development teams towards company goals.
• Demonstrated organizational and project management skills tofoster
growth of individuals and drive productivity of teams
